Syblon Reid's internship program provides mentoring and hands-on, real-world experience while you pursue a college degree in construction management, civil engineering, or other related fields. Syblon Reid offers paid internships to enthusiastic, self-motivated students interested in learning all aspects of the heavy civil construction industry. Many of our full-time employees started with an internship at Syblon Reid.
Student interns work on a variety of tasks, using their classroom knowledge to support different departments at our corporate office in Folsom, California and assist our field staff on project sites.
Responsibilities
Student interns work on a variety of tasks, using their classroom knowledge to support different departments at our corporate office in Folsom, California and assist our field staff on project sites.
Job functions may include:
- Assisting in the estimating process
- Attending pre-bid meetings
- Reviewing plans, specifications, and other bid documents
- Performing quantity take-offs
- Soliciting bids and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
- Reviewing project submittal requirements and preparing response packages
- Preparing Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Providing technical assistance to field personnel
Requirements
All interns must posses the following skills to be considered:
- Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have strong communication skills and a detail-oriented focus.
- Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, Google Earth, and SketchUp is a plus.
- Candidates must be currently eligible to work in the U.S. without further visa sponsorship.
